Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has confirmed the band will hit the road for a farewell tour in 2017.
The vocalist, who is gearing up for the release of his debut solo album, ‘We're All Somebody from Somewhere’, out on July 15, broke the news during a call-in interview with US radio host Howard Stern. He said:
"I love this band. I really do. I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about 'the band's over. We're doing a farewell tour - but it's only because it's time. We've never done that."
When asked by Stern whether the band will be "gone for good" following the tour, Tyler responded, "yeah", echoing comments made in a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year when he admitted that a farewell tour is something the band have talked about doing for years.
